The modern Olympic disciplines of fencing use very technical equipment, and the armourer’s job is to help keep the competition running efficiently by ensuring that everything – recording apparatus and weapons – is in working order. Every club has its designated armourer who maintains the club’s equipment. Region runs an Introduction to Basic Armoury course every year tutored by a highly experienced senior armourer. Fencers often attend this programme simply to be better able to look after their own kit.
If you are interested in taking part in an armoury course, please register your interest by emailing the regional secretary?
Once enough people have registered interest in taking part in a course the committee will arrange a suitable course.
